4th September 2010 Makybe Diva Stakes Preview:
This day can really be said to be the start of the Spring Racing Carnival and the Makybe Diva Stakes will have many of the major hopes for the big races on show. 2009 Melbourne Cup winner Shocking is currently $17.00 with Sportsbet, will probably need this run and find others a bit too quick. Danleigh ($3.20) will probably start favourite and looks to have made the trip down here for some wet tracks and to get away from his stable mates who beat him in the Warwick Stakes. Monaco Consul ($8.50) has a good draw, a top jockey, trains at the track and a wet track wouldn’t worry him. Vigor ($6.00) is trained at the track and has a win on Heavy as well as a good record at the track and distance. Providing he can manage the slightly wide draw he will be in contention. If scratchings allow Fanjura $15.00 and Ghostmilk $8.00 to run they could also get into the placings.
We recommend Danleigh on top, Vigor and Monaco Consul to fill the placings. Ghostmilk & Fanjura worth considering if they get a run.
4th September 2010 Chelmsford Stakes Preview:
Metal Bender ($2.40), Triple Honour ($4.00) and Theseo ($3.20) top the early betting with Sportsbet and there looks to be little between them. With Metal Bender and Triple Honour being the form horses, the probable improver at the distance is Theseo. Rainbow Styling ($21.00) from the Hawkes camp is up in class but has a good record at the track and distance, might need the run but could get into a place.
We suggest a box Quinella with Metal Bender, Triple Honour & Theseo. Best each-way Rainbow Styling.
